Crazylikeafoxoldman: It seems that AMD is getting all it's mobo ducks lined up for a huge launch of the CPUs and Mobos at the same time in volume just in time for the top ten designers to spec the parts, find any bugs and get the finalized boards ready in time for the fall sales season. This is the first time that AMD has had the luxury on detailed launch planning. The success of the AThlon has done this. The mobo makers were leery of the Athlon at first and AMD had a rough time for the first few months. Now they have seen what Intel has done for them and are all lined up behind AMD. AMD also does not look like it will become a mob maker, but AMD will make chipsets for mobo makers to use, thus cutting them from an excess Intel dependency. There is also the risk that Intel will stop selling chipsets(maybe)and sell finished mobos instead. They did it once and they can do it again, so the mobo maers have little trust in Intel. They know that at any time Intel can turn off the taps and only Dell and a few others will have mobos and so they do not want to be caught that way again.
