Re: "Comment: Just who here is calling the kettle black? Mr. October flood the market with PWeeIII 733's and above? Sounds like a "botched" call to me..."

I think you are confusing me with someone else but nonetheless, I expect you will see that Intel increased their CuMine manufacturing almost 10x in Q1 but you will continue to insist there aren't any out there. Will AMD report a 10x increase in Athlons? 2x? I don't think so but you will insist they had a huge increase. Kind of shows your sense of judgement. Good thing you're making money here but then, so am I.

Niceguy <In retrospect, 1.2 Athys in the seasonally weak Q1, represents a 50% increase in Athys over the seasonally strong Q4>

I agree, I think a lot of people here got ahead of themselves. Maybe it's because we're getting used to "great" news. Well, 1.2MM IS great news at 650+. And we still run the possibility of Jerry sandbagging. Personally, I was expecting 1.4ish based on the quarter and the fact that AMD is still not pushing these hard enough in a general advertising campaign geared towards branding to the consumer. Still today, even with 2MM Athlons on people's desks, most people have NEVER HEARD of an Athlon. Hopefully this will change.

Niceguy,

Re: "Hi Elmer - re: less than 2 million units is a letdown."

Comment: ... In retrospect, 1.2 Athys in the seasonally weak Q1, represents a 50% increase in Athys over the seasonally strong Q4

On this one, I have to agree with Elmer. I expected around 2 million Athlons, rather than around 1.2 million. Especially in context of Compaq, HP, Gateway offering Athlon PCs. I wonder what the limiting factor was. Was it the supply or demand?
