"Japanese postal bonds have now started to mature. I believe that 4/1/00 is the first date that any of this money will be looking for a new home. There is 1 trillion dollars (not yen) worth of these that are maturing over the next two years. I believe that much of this (as much as half) will come over here .. perhaps limited to the US bond .. but I doubt it."

Yen at the time of the post was ~9800. Flow is still heading this way.

I agree with your comments on the market. I don't remember ever seeing market action like this. How can part of the market (Nasdaq) experience what looks like a classic blowout bottom, while another part of the market (S&P 500) is bumping against new, all-time highs?

I wonder if the weird volatility is a sign of dreadful things to come.

Best wishes,

I2

Dear GZ,

I just want you to know publicly that you are a marvelous futures trader, and the most important thing you mentioned in this post was keeping losses manageable. I'm sure you would like to lose as few trades as possible, but the fact that you can keep losses down to a minimum and maximize the winners is why you do so well.

I have learned about managing risk the hard way, but having learned and even practicing this much better <g>, I have had much success in trading equities this year.

When one preserves capital, one lives for the next chance to have a good winner.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for keeping us apprised of your strategies over on your thread

Best wishes always,

David

GZ,

I understand that is typical of a broadening pattern. From my perspective, the weekly is mature but the daily needs to hit 12,000.

WHAT A COUNTRY!!!
