Your first rule of Preserve Capital is the critical one. TJ is the champ on this one. It is the reason that he is a very consistently good trader. I have not had the week he has, but I am very solidly in the black for the last two weeks because I have been stressing this as the first rule in my trading.

Well, good to have you outed.

Don't anyone be afraid to post if you've got a comment or question. I've learned a lot from the experienced hands on the thread. Their calm and rational exposing of my bad techniques has helped a lot.

Looking over Roy's posts, he has had some good ideas for his trades. I regret not paying more notice to them at the time. The point is everyone has good ideas and an insight to bring, it's what makes for a good discussion group...

Roymario - You are well on your way to being a successful trader. Realizing your strengths and weaknesses is the first step. Preserving capital is a very important one, as Wes mentions, and your discipline on that item will be tested often. 80% of my trades these past 3 days have run far beyond the stops and sells that I have executed. On VRSN, thursday, I missed out on $6400, followed by $16,000 because I sold too soon .... opting instead for two, $2k runs. But the time you break this discipline is the time it will bite you. Make sure that you continue to identify the goal with each trade BEFORE you enter....is it a trade, is it an investment? ....and keep learning.

I myself am getting more and more into long positions now as I continue to do well with trading. Please continue to share your "investment" picks as I am always looking for good plays.

My next long plays will consist of a few from the following .... always looking for input:

HLTH
CNET
RSAS
NSATF (already have a small long position, looking to add)
ELY
CCR
PFE
IMCL
LSI
ZOOX
