Agreed but within boundaries. Persuasiveness is a "bonus" to a really good argument, but the prime criterion must be truthfulness, fidelity to one's moral principles. (The hidden and huge responsibility is that one must always be willing to adapt one's moral principles if a new facet of truth emerges! Truth should guide faith, not the other way around! 'course we could argue endlessly about what truth is without getting anywhere, but I hope you get my gist!)
...Just as a house's cosmetic integrity is important, but should never be given greater importance (equal is ok, but not greater) than the house's engineering integrity.
