I did not say that. I addressed the two main ways that "education" on such things usually proceeds, and observed the typical flaws. One is value- neutral, and the other is over- reaching, though value-laden.......

By the way, if you talk about how dangerous drugs are, and allow them to be freely sold, many kids will not take you seriously. It is like nagging them to do their homework, but not taking concrete steps to enforce a schedule or help them succeed. It is BS.......

Another "by the way": in relationships, one can babble on about openness and respecting one's personhood and the evils of treating people as possessions, and when push comes to shove, get a big kick out of one's lover's jealousy because if he or she cares, he/she will be afraid of losing one. In the same way, if we care, we will act in a manner proportionate to the perceived risks, and no amount of babble about respecting personhood and the evils of paternalism will change that. If we do not take affirmative steps to curtail use, we are saying that the risk is tolerable.........
