Big story about optical field, including LU, CSCO, Nortel) in Monday's Investors Businesss Daily. Very positive, I thought.

(Monday issues of IBD are delivered to homes on Saturdays, in case anyone wonders how anyone knows about this story in advance.)

I remember well the time back in the early 50's when there was friction between mainland China and Formosa (before the name change to Taiwan). I was in the U.S. Army and was on alert to go to that area if things worsened.

A confrontation between mainland China and Taiwan in this day and age could quickly lead to one h*ll of a big problem that would suck everyone in.

The problems now being experienced in Middle Eastern Europe and those that flare up in the Middle East would pale by comparison.
