GZ,

You look like you are surviving this in this market. I am chicken and just working some credit spreads with zero risk of my capital. Cluck...cluck...cluck. <ggg>

I do own a few stock which are related to the commodities market, so I am betting your call on this side of the equation is correct. <ggg>

Joan

GZ,

What is the underlying option symbol that you are using for short puts on the bonds?

Thanks,

dave

BTW, I am not convinced that we are out of the woods yet. Once the NAZ works off it's oversold conditions, it looks like it could head down once more.

I haven't checked in here for awhile, so forgive me if I cover some ground that has already been covered, but last Tuesday was due in part to margin calls. We have had such a great market that margin usage was at a very high level. I had sent in some money for my 5 year olds college fund the week before and by Wednesday, when it still wasn't credited, I was on the phone with Datek screaming about it because I wanted to BUY!!! They basically said...sorry sir, we can't even keep up with crediting all of the margin calls at this point. I guess that took priority over new money coming in. It wasn't credited until Friday morning.

Now, for the interesting part...where did all of the cash go in the meantime? When will it come back because it hasn't happened so far if you look at the volume since then...unimpressive to say the least. Will the people who got burned on margin do it again? Was it mutual fund 'cash' that saved the day on Tuesday? I don't think so. I haven't seen mutual fund cash levels lately, and the data is delayed anyway, but they have been staying pretty much fully invested as of late...correct me if I'm wrong...and I know someone will if I'm wrong <g> If we don't get some serious upside volume next week, I'm leaning towards another downside leg also. Till I see more evidence, I'm playing the long side too.
