Wood, Blue Grass, Arkansas Derby

Fusaichi Pegasus verified his prior performance with a huge win in the Wood Memorial. That was a decent field and he beat them badly. The most impressive part of it was that he looked so strong in the last 1/8 mile. I think he's a good one.

I can find only very small negatives about him heading into the Derby.

1. He doesn't have much seasoning.

2. He doesn't seem to have super acceleration.

I scanned the charts for Keenland and think there was a huge inside bias that had an effect on the Blue Grass stakes. I need to study the situation better but I am certain I will be leaving High Yield off my derby tickets.

He was on the rail every step of the way so he'll probably be over bet unless the bias gets a lot of press. On the flip side a few long shots and others made very nice moves on the outside and may be very live to get 2nd or 3rd.

The Arkansas Derby field was weak and I can't see anyone from that race winning the Derby.
