I've have a firewire hookup on my Sony Digital camcorder which I bought in the fall of 1998. I connect it to my Sony laptop for downloads. I was unaware of the speeds, but, come to think of it, it must be fast since you use it to freeze frame digital movies.

I like SMDK because it's in what's avant garde now--flash memory-- and what may be future avant garde--smart cards. I have a Diamond Rio 500 MP3 player with flash memory. And these are just now catching on. Smart cards have been around for a while in Europe, like the prepay long distance cards. I think the new American Express card may be one.

At any rate, they're over their lockup period. And up over 100% from their low on black Tuesday--in 3 days.

Ain't this one fine game we play. With $8 trades, immediate order fills on the internet, and instant dissemination of information to nobodies like us, we are playing with a whole new set of rules.
