Goutama,
after some very interesting weeks with this thread - and with some AMD long which do rather well - I would like to contribute at least my guess to the new contest (which I deduce actually solely on my conclusion from the topics discussed here).

UserName: manfredhasler
Board: SI
100: May,20,2000
Pass INTC: Oct.,30,2000
Split: March,20,2001

This as a reference to all participants with their sometimes very thoughtful, very helpful, very entertaining, and timely contributions.
Many thanks to all.
Regards,
manfred

Is the 100 is a closing price or part of daily price range?

And is the Split the 1st one to announce a split or the day of the split.

Milo

Goutama,

I don't want to make your life more difficult, but I think there is something that should be added to the evaluation of your contest results.

In addition to calculating who has the closest guess, I think it would be nice to have some sort of time weighted "best guess". Let's say that someone makes a guess one week before earnings and is off by 1%, while someone else makes a guess two months before earnings and is 2% off. Clearly, the former guess is closest, while the latter is a better guess. Perhaps there are equations for the field of options trading that could be applied here. Having this could also open up other possibilities with the contest. Perhaps people could be allowed two guess; an early guess and a late guess. Anyway, just thinking out loud.

Pravin.
