ghostriding nick, thank you for the response. good kb article. i have filed that page and will await a response from networkice tech support. i emailed them thursday 4/6 a.m. no answer yet. i'd read recently (i think in a langa article) that networkice was way behind the curve in support... that they had experienced explosive growth that they were unprepared for. i can see that. but it's not urgent (i am a bit impatient in wanting to get on with the 'mega' scans) and i expect to hear from them monday or tuesday. like your name change, btw :) mark
