Rudedog, I'm looking at prices of Win 2k Server of less than $500 in one off quantities.

The post I was responding to was on about PC server vendors paying $700. I think the likes of Compaq pay less than I do. If you think $700 is a little low, then I would be happy to sell you some product !

A further point I didn't make, was in the client access licensing. If you compare the licensing for Oracle clients on Solaris with the licensing for MS SQL on NT/2000 you will see the MS pricing gives a distinct advantage.
