Thanks Greg, for the response. Looks like I should have dumped MSFT after all...in the short run, for sure. And yesssss, I am holding tight to the mighty Q....and my small stake in LHSP, but perhaps more lightly.

Back in the office today finishing up that monster return. The broker did buy back a few calls...'twas a discretionary account...She also had the good fortune of many calls expiring. This particular return reinforces the covered call writing techniques that Tom practices and teaches. The broker's covered call expirations made three times the money that her selling long did during 1999...and the longs are still in the account...one rollup and extension of the call further out...this one is quite a reinforcement of my option education...none of my money is at risk here, and I get paid handsomely for working the return...such a deal!

Thanks again for taking the time for your comments Greg. I'll be back in 9 days when this madness is over.

Regards

Joe K

PS If you are looking for something to do, care to comment on NTAP, CREE (I kept one round lot), ELON, LPTHA, JDSU, GSTRF, ORCL?....Do you have your eye on a potential QCOM out there in GG land?...jj

I'm curious as to your reasoning vis   vis QCOM/hold. If QCOM hits a high in October then you've made 17% in 7 months, not bad. Why don't you call it a buy?
