Here is something interesting:

I found this article comparing CAS-2 and CAS-3 memory. They show some Sandra screenshots. Sandra shows some reference systems to compare your performance to. They show Athlon 600 as one of the reference systems, and it beats their test configuration (BX chipset at 100MHz) soundly.

I wonder about the configuration of Athlon reference system, if it's using PC-133 memory. But anyway, the memory subsystem performance used to be one of the crown jewels of Intel based BX systems.
