A few quick notes from the rebroadcast of the analysts' meeting:

Management said that the quarter did begin to pick up in March. April will tell the tale because typically 50% of the biz in in the last month.

Novell is bidding on a directory for each citizen of a major European nation. The idea is that each person could pay his/her taxes, etc. online.

Also bidding with major telcos, who, like governments, take longer to award contracts.

NetWare 3 server base is something like three million of which half would be good targets for NetWare 5 small biz edition.

And of course management said its caching technology was generally ten times as potent as competitors'. And that unlike Microsoft's claims, storage is not a commodity. Look at EMC's stock price, for example.
