Even though I'm not at liberty to divulge the keys to David J's Magnets I can tell you that they have nothing to do with gaps. They are strictly indicator derived and application of a magnet signal to the price chart is based on a consistent rule. It's really quite amazing.

Thank you for the compliment and spreading the word.

The times I consider gaps important are when the gap crosses a key magnet trendline or strong horizontal magnet. This is especially true when it is the first time the stock/index has reached the magnet. As far as construction of magnets, gaps are not part of the signal properties. Magnets are born from a combination of indicators, not price action.
