Scumbria (ot),

I'm in Vancouver, WA. I moved here from Oregon at the end of last year in advance of capital gains earned from my AMD investments. Oregon has a 9% State income tax. Washington has none. I could potentially be selling a couple of million of dollars in AMD stock this year, or next, and I could possibly save a couple hundred thousand dollars in State taxes by making this move.

The Northwest is beautiful, but Fort Collins is a great town, and the weather is great. I would consider moving back to Fort Collins in the future, but right now I am considering Austin, TX. Austin is a great town, the weather is good, and all the high tech investment is spurring a strong growth phase in real estate values (but still affordable). Also, I might be able to network a little there and get the inside scoop at AMD. Who knows, I might even go work for them if I decide I need a hobby.

Pravin.
