Oh wow! The last time the hair on my arm stood up like this was fifteen years ago when I was a graduate student in psychology doing research in the library of one of the state mental hospitals. A very intense middle-aged woman sat at the same table and began to tell me about how the two librarians, as well as many other staff members, were monitoring her thoughts and could I please get her out of there. Being young and naive, I felt terrible that those nasty people were stealing her thoughts. I asked her to write down her name for me so I could look into it. She approached me a half hour later with THREE pages of some of the finst "word salad" I've ever seen. Beautiful sentences, carefully constructed, and utterly delusional. She looked disappointed when I told her I wasn't able to help her.
