edamo...clarification, yes. Answer,no.

As we have many questionable issues with how the IRS will interpret the tax laws, so we can also question the clarifications of those who try to determine those answers. You'll notice the author ends with a disclaimer in many of the tax clarifications she writes.

The examples she gives, however, are representative of your query. Lacking any better guidance, i.e. the IRS, I would tend to favor those opinions with a greater understanding than my own.

Also, the website has other tax related information that others on the thread might find enlightening. She did agree with you that the IRS was not likely to provide guidance in the near future.
