I perfectly understand how you use LEAPS, I was just trying to understand the characteristics of LEAPS w/o having to run the numbers myself :-)

I'm not saying QCOM will or won't... I have no view on it, but for sake of discussion, if QCOM tanks to 50 in the next few months wouldn't you think the likelihood of early assignment grows tremendously?

I guess w/ '01 LEAPS you have 1 room for error... '02 LEAPS and you're pretty much locked in.

and as far as discussing fundamentals of PSFT vs QCOM.
I won't even get started there because I know next to nothing about that... but I do know that PSFT did use to have more earnings prior to mid 98... but not anymore.
ok, you baited me into it... I just looked at QCOM's P/E... even PSFT's P/E was nowhere near that high in 1998.
