Ten,

Makes me wonder whether AMD was capable of manufacturing 2M Athlons, but sacrificed yields in order to get to 1 GHz. (As usual, correct me if I'm way out of line here.)

We really don't know how many Athlons were made last quarter, but your theory sounds quite within the realm of possibility.

Tenchusatsu,

re:"I'm sure we'll find out more this week as earnings are announced and we get a better idea of volumes, both on Intel's side and on AMD's side."

Has Intel ever provided numbers of CPUs?

All I've ever seen is analyst's estimates of total CPUs.

You wouldn't care to break down the numbers of each processor family would you?

Do you think Intel will have to exceed their guidance again this quarter to make earning estimates?

Here's some AMD numbers for the Athlon ramp.

Every Athlon sold is a P3 that didn't.
