DEAL OF THE WEEK
X.com, an Internet bank which offers person-to-person payment services online, increased its customer base from 500,000 users to more than 1 million in the last month. Capitalizing on this upward trend, the firm has raised $100 million in mezzanine financing from traditional VCs and international corporate players.

Madison Dearborn Partners led the round with additional funding from Sequoia Capital, Deutsche Bank, Goldman, Sachs (NYSE: GS), and Idealab, as well as wireless concerns Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM) and Singapore Telecommunications.
