Darrell - Mike Lambert would not have made the comments he did about the acquisition if all was rosy. His comments ran a lot deeper than just "it's a little late" - he talked about looking under the hood more deeply next time... a clear indication that the capability is less than initially positioned. What that probably means is that DELL will have to either develop, acquire or partner to get the things they thought they had already bought with convergenet. I could go into more detail about the components that I believe DELL is now looking to add... but I would actually prefer to wait until they clarify a little more themselves.

Still, you need to read my comments more carefully and in a more positive light. I believe that DELL is pulling several pieces together, not just Convergenet, and that when the whole plan comes together it will be around a "product line" concept with both partner components and DELL technology. This is significant in that DELL is actually investing as a technology provider - the first time they have done that in their history as far as I know - so a few bumps in the road are to be expected.
