. . . . . . . . My Favorite Crop of REITS. . . . . .

Selected in a comparison study of many hundreds of stocks. . . these are picked for their low PE Ratios, their high ROE, low price over past year. . .lack of bad news. . . solid earnings . . . . some have extraordinary earnings growth. . . others have extraordinary dividend yields. . . .still others are ridiculously undervalued, compared to both the sector and their own book values. . . .many are on the NYSE. . .some on AMEX and NASDAQ . . . . none on OTC. . . .a few have ridiculously small floats in addition to being terribly undervalued.

Here goes my favorites list. . .

In the larger caps. . . .

CPP [Cornerstone Properties]. . mostly commercial properties. . . .PE of 9.65 with a market cap of 2.29B and 4.52% yield. . . this past year revenues rose 72%. . due to acquisitions. . . 52-week Range 13 - 17 7/8

EQR [Equity Residential Properties Trust]. . primarily apartment complexes . . 983 properties. . .. . .revs rose 31% last year, due to increased rental income. . . .7.22% dividend yield. . .52-week Range 38 1/8 - 48 3/8

I'm not that crazy about the larger caps, except that they are first to get investment monies in a flight to quality.

In the smaller caps. . . .

MGI [MGI Properties]. . .diversified income producing real estate . . .net income rose 84% last year. . . price to book ratio is 0.93. . .ROE=79%. . . dividend yield is 24%. . .price to earnings ratio is 0.49. . .market cap is 73 mil. . .52-week Range = 5 1/16 - 28 5/8

MAL [Malan Realty Investors, Inc.]. . .commercial real estate. . .PE= 11.5. . .Dividend Yield = 13.33%. . .Float = 700,000 shares. . . market cap = 66 mil. . . price to book 1.35. . .52-week Range 11 7/8 - 15 7/8

NUT [ML Macadamia Orchards, L.P]. . .macadamia nut orchards in Hawaii. . .sales rose 29% last year. . .price to book ratio is just 0.63! . . with book value at 8.09 and price at 5.06. . . Dividend Yield is 9.88%. . . PE = 8.25%. . .52-week Range 3 3/8 - 5 1/4

EPR [ Entertainment Properties Trust] . . owns megaplex type movie theatre companies. . .including Consolidated and Edwards Cinemas. . .net income increased 21% last 9 mos, based on acquisitions. . . dividend yield is 13.6% . . PE = 8. . .book value is $17.80, while the stock price is $12.94 [52-wk low =11, while hi=18]. . .giving it a price to book of 0.73.

MNRTA [ Monmouth Real Estate Investment Corporation] . . .industrial income properties, primarily Federal Express and Keebler]. . .revs rose 40% due to acquisitions. . .PE ration of 8. . . dividend yield of 11.75% . . .and price to book of 1.07. . . .52-wk range = 4 1/2 - 5 15/16

MARPS [Marine Petroleum Trust] 52-week Range 13 1/2 - 19. . .Oil and gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico with licenses to Gulf Oil held by Chevron. Net income rose 35%, due to higher sales and higher oil prices. Float is 1.7 million. . .dividend yield is 14%. . .PE ratio is 8.6%. . . and ROE is 167%. . .52-week range . . $13.43 to 19.00.

NET [The North European Oil Royalty Trust. . . . gas and oil. . . in the Federal Republic of Germany. . . for Exxon and Royal Dutch. . . . 52-week Range 13 - 16. . .PE =10. . .and dividend yield is 11.94%. . .accounting may be incompatible with GAPP . . some strange numbers should be looked into more closely. . . . .

My favorite in the micro caps. . . .

NEWRZ with a PE of just 0.7! A $27.57 book value. . .an ROE of 85%. . . a dividend yield of 7.42%. . . a float of 100,000 shares. . .and a 69% increase in net income over past 9 months. . . 52-week low is $10 and 52-week high is $16.875. . .have payouts scheduled to a past ex-dividend.

Some others that look interesting include. . . AEC, RAS, TCI, NHR, AXM, CLR, WIR and BED. . .plus the larger cap SPK, EOP, BXP and AMB.

Please do your own DD. . . this post is meant as a guide. . . and not a recommendation to buy or sell any security.

Best wishes,
