Jacob, as you probably know, my pet theory is that the economic boom will eventually give way to a big bust...too much leverage has built up in the system during the boom. that and the fact that foreign money is needed to keep the current account deficit financed, will exacerbate the economic downturn when it comes. of course i wouldn't entirely dismiss the soft landing scenario either...it's just that i think it is highly unlikely.
