Ben, aggressive deduction of PMI as de facto interest expense has been around for decades. And unlike deducting business clothing (you have a separate suit for funerals and weddings -g-), you can at least argue it without breaking into laughter.

Play the audit lottery and you will probably get away with it.

ben, some loans include a higher interest rate and don't charge pmi (interest is deductible). what a racket. my first loan had higher interest instead of pmi - it became a rental 3 months after i bought it and so it was a moot point (business expense).
