The issue is simple...

How can there NOT be any harm to the market and ultimately the consumer if a firm uses its monopoly power in one market to create additional monopolies in other markets?

What is the big deal here? You sound as if you are letting your ownership of Microsoft shares interfere a bit with your thinking.

Relax. It's all about ego and money to Bill. Don't encourage him, it looks bad in principle, and it's not good for business.
