You should've said, especially considering gas is refined in the S. F. Bay Area.

Dear Tejek:

When I was in the Bay area during a project, a gas station owner explained it to me. He said that there is a "Pollution Control" Tax and a "Economic Development" Tax in the Bay area. This adds about $0.25 per gallon. In my observations, he was right. Gas at that time was averaged a quarter more in the Bay area than in Sacramento just sixty miles east. And people wonder why dual and extended capacity tanks are popular in the Bay area (You can get up to 100 gallons between auxiliary and primary gasoline tanks in a Ford F150 pickup truck).
