Canada's MGI Seen in Bundling Deal With Dell

OTTAWA (Reuters) - MGI Software Corp. (Toronto:MGI.TO - news) is expected to announce early on Tuesday that its video-editing software will be installed on various personal-computer systems manufactured by Dell Computer Corp., the world's No. 2 PC maker (NasdaqNM:DELL - news)

Under an international licensing deal, Dell can package MGI's VideoWave III with any system that includes a digital interface known as FireWire. FireWire allows data-rich traffic, such as video data from a camcorder, transfer from one device to another.

MGI's VideoWave will be included, for example, on Dell's Movie Studio, a Dell Dimension desktop computer coupled with a Canon camcorder. One research firm, Research from Cahners In-Stat Group, estimates 20 million PCs with the FireWire interface will be shipped in 2000, up from 7 million in 1999.

Toronto-area based MGI, which sells photo and video software, announced a similar licensing deal with Compaq Computer Corp. (NYSE:CPQ - news) in June for the manufacturer's high-end computers.

MGI has shipped about two million copies of VideoWave since its launch in 1996. About 30,000 copies have been sold to retailers and the remainder shipped to equipment manufacturers, with Compaq the largest customer.

MGI is expected to list on the Nasdaq exchange in May or June and introduce a new corporate name to the market.

Leigh,
Hi!!
RE: Hi Kemble! While I was watching Daniel eat his Happy Meal and play, Dell announced a deal with Texaco and the Nasdaq went South?

TEXACO DEAL...
or
WHY YOU CAN'T AFFORD NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH DELL

Wednesday and Thursday last week...DELL analyst meeting NYC...
Friday/Saturday more announcements regarding the turns DELL is has been planning ...

Now Monday they announce this Texaco deal...How smart do you have to be to understand that this deal is exactly what they said they would be doing? Notice the "IBM global service"... :o) Now, what was the only thing lacking when that EXXON executive that pulls the lever on millions of tech told me last June at Chelsea Pier? DAAAHHHHuuuuuu!!! "DELL is good..but, they aren't great...because they don't have the global service to back up their products...all the rest really stink"....Well, here we have it..."CHECKMATE"... :o)

And on top of this tech deal we're doing service with them also ...Like guiding their ecommerce efficiency...OOOh my now isn't that unusual...Back on Sept. 13th...

Message 11232010

I'll never know why folks sell DELL...

The game is over Leigh...and think of the values that could be placed on DELL if these contracts for e-commerce assistance keep piling up for years and years...

Let's not forget...They hooked em up to a Premier Page...
:o) "everything from a paper clip to a jet engine"..

DELL is the next......DELL!!

Best, Kemble

DELL is already the #1 PC provider in the UK. Now, they'll just keep getting stronger...and taking more market share from CPQ.
