04/11 8:03A (DJ) Canada Southern Says Crt Dismisses Motion On Payments
Canada Southern/Crt Ruling -2: Relates To Kotaneelee
CALGARY (Dow Jones)--Canada Southern Petroleum Ltd. (CSPLF) said the Court
of Queens Bench has dismissed the company's motion to require Amoco Canada and
others to make payments relating to the Kotaneelee gas field.
In a press release, the company said it was seeking such payments on its
share of the revenues from the field, pending the court's ultimate
determination of the issues surrounding the Kotaneelee field carried-interest
account.
The company said it is considering its options.
As reported, Canada Southern has a 30% interest in the field, which has been
the subject of litigation for nine years. Canada Southern claims that Amoco
Canada and other parties failed to develop the field in a timely manner.

The judge basically said that this issue is part of the trial and he will not segment it out.. CSPLF's lawyers disagree, I disagree, but it doesn't matter what we think.

The company stated they will review all of their options. Perhaps the defense will look at this as an opportunity to weasel their way out of this trial and offer a modest settlement, but develop this field heavily.. I just want to be out of the litigation business and in the Oil and Gas business.
