CK,

Ford Owners R Dumb <g>

Now you're getting personal.<VBG>

Even though GM is my favorite car company, I presently own two Ford's and like them both.

I still enjoy making fun of them though.

Have fun,
Phil

Honda may very well ruile, I have an Acura, however...

everytime I break it, and I am a maniac so that is a lot, it costs a fortune to fix...

ever price the headlight assembly for an integra...

how about the daytime running light relay ($98)

I have a Chevy Extended Cab Sierra...

I blew the serpentine belt the other dayu..$16 and it took me 3 minutes to change it in the parking lot with a ratchet and a 2 foot length of 3/4 inch copper pipe for leverage.

When My internal water pumop went, it took the timing belt with it (on the Acura) they wanted $1500 to change it.

So I bought the pump and belt for $260 and spent the next 48 hours, literally, We logged the hours and it was 48 hours put into changing the pump./..

Ever tried to find Top Dead Centre in a motor, that has zero published on it...

I used a welding rod and ever so slowly turned the crank until I found top fdead in #1...

Only problem is this..

First, the timing belt, which is internal, goes arounf the motor mount...which means you have to lift the engine out to change the belt..

So..

I hoisted the engine, replaced the pump, replaced the belt...then put it all back together.

TRried to start it...I got thje pistons backwards...

Number 1 was down, whjen it should have been up...

so..I had to hoist it back out, remove the belt, find TDC again, this time with the right piston...put it all back together..and then it started...

Here's the thing

That was in February 1997. It was cold.

Also, The Acuras Dealer told me I was crazy because the engine is a sealed engine, and that they time it with a computer, and that if I tried to do it myuself, the engine would be ruined...

February 2000 just passed....still beating...

Put on over 100,000 KMs since that repair...

I like the car, I like the way it handles, the way it looks, the way it feels, I like the 170 Horses, I like everything about it, except that the windshiels are $900

And the bumper covers are $1000 plus paint..

The exhaust system cost about $1000

Yokohama tires are $300 a piece...BF goodrich just rip right off the rims...

so...

Even though Chevy might not be as good as a Honda...

I must say, the next Car I getr will have to be a domestic vehicle, because....

I hate giving car dealers anymore money than I have to...

The only real thing I dislike about fords, are the wiring...

That's it.

I once had a 1970 mustang fast back

we changed the bellhousing and dropped a chevey in it.

Pissed everyone off...

Was nice driving a mustang around with "Chevy powered" Airbrushed on the back .

But....

My mostest favoritest car of all time was a 1974 Nova Hatchback.

I loved that car.

We dropped a 396 in it with a tunnel ram, narrowed the rear end and threw on some Micky Thompson slicks, with a wheely bar.

(I admit, I had the pie cutters on the front. I'm sorry)

Anyway, we put on several coats of metalic wine red, witrh a bunch of clear coats.

Called it the supernova...

Then.......I bl;ew a tire on a turn, and skidded, into a van..

Pushed the rad cradle in, which cracked the rad, that hit the fan which bent the cam, which ruined the motor.

I'm still very upset, 13 years later...

THERE'S SOMETHING IN MY EYE!

CK:

But Ford did wonders for Jaguar!!

Like you, I owned many Hondas.
My last one was a blue Prelude (1986, I think).
A red Honda Accord (1981) was my very first
new car. Had a couple of others in between.
Always liked the cars. And resale was great.

I've been a Jaguar girl since 1990, though.....
