I like this "disaggreated into two companies" alot! I would pick the split to be maybe even three ways ... you have the "appliance" group (ICS, Storage, etc.), the "platform" group (NetWare and NDS), and the "applications" group (Directory-enabled applications, groupware, etc.)

I'm wondering if the folks at Paine Webber know something ... or are just trying to ask for the same changes that seem obvious from the outside?
