If they did .08 last quarter which reflected Sept 99 royalties, why do anals have .07.

They're lazy. If earnings were actually expected to decline sequentially, there would have been an indication of that by management in the previous conference call. This is probably an example of an analyst putting a buy rating on the stock and then publishing a low ESP estimate so that when the company reports the analyst can say "look! They beat my expectations!" This type of thing happens all the time. If the analyst gives the stock a 1 rating it is then in his interest to make the estimates as low as possible and claim some nonsense like "my estimates are conservative".

Lazy, plain and simple.

My mistake KHS, should have highlighted "if 7&cent is the estimate".
