Milo, OT: gun controls etc.. You seems to be very naive, and inconsistent. Look: <Too bad he didn't have a gun to shoot back.> After he was shot to death? Are you expecting an ordinary citizen to fight back against an armed robber who is ready to fire and has no moral breaks at all? Are you going to sleep every night with loaded gun under your pillow? <Columbine High School(s) Shooting prove the parents didn't know what there children were up too> Oh yes they did, perfectly. They armed the kid to improve his self-esteem, and the whole problem was because of extreme tension created due to the underperforming kid failed his parent's high expectations. The problem with firearms is that it takes no physical effort to pull the trigger, and release enormous power of chemical reaction that destroys and kills instantly. The next "natural" amendment to free weapon rights would be to allow little nuclear bombs to be carried by "good guys" citizens for their private defense. Imaging: you are a little angry at your dad for asking too much - say, master divisions and multiplications by 10 - get his defense tool and just push the little knob... and all problems are gone. HighSchools making bombs and storing weapons for a year in the house and the parents know nothing of what is going on shows they spend zero time with there children. Springfield and > Columbine High School(s) Shooting prove the parents didn't know what there children were up too. Milo, come on....the parents didn't know because they didn't want to know. The father of my best friend in high school was head of all the protestant churches in the state. My friend and I constantly got into trouble and his parents blamed me....they did not want to believe their little Mike was the ring leader and btw his mother did not work. Gun Control bills don't prevent the bad guys from having guns, just us good guys. (both shootings the guns where not obtained legally) There are no good guys when guns are involved. I for one am for having my house armed. Yes, and how many school shootings have been caused by kids raiding the arsenal at home and how many kids have been killed at home by having a gun go off accidently. Frankly I am tired of having a murder rate that is 3 times, 4 times, 10 times those in Europe. In many ways we still are the barbarians that the Europeans perceived a hundred years ago. ted
