<<And this is dammed good PR>>

Agreed! Just look at EDIG rubbing elbows with the big boys, IBM (and Intel gets mentioned too):

<<Fred Falk, e.Digital president and chief executive officer, said, ``We share IBM's goals to supply Internet ...>>

<<And this is damned good PR....>> Not really. The only people who might get excited about that news are uninformed EDIG investors or uninformed new investors.

I'm sure everybody here knew that EDIG has been working with IBM and this news is nothing more than a formality.

To the informed investor the latest news release is no more earth shattering than EDIG's announcement to become a member of SDMI near the end of the project. We all knew EDIG was involve, so making the announcement really added very little value to the stock price.

Dave,

I especially like the following two paragraphs.

e.Digital's multi-codec design including support for EMMS can be incorporated into a variety of products including portable digital music players, home and automotive stereos, and functionally-enhanced wireless phones.

...Two of e.Digital's portable Internet music player designs will be on display in the IBM booth (No. L3337) at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Annual Meeting this week in Las Vegas. This marks the debut of the e.Digital/Maycom music player design incorporating IBM's EMMS content protection. e.Digital has also incorporated IBM's 340MB Microdrive into a portable Internet music player design, allowing storage of approximately 5 1/2 hours of CD-quality digital music. The NAB Annual Meeting will be attended by approximately 63,000 broadcast industry professionals and is not open to the public.

The mention of functionally enhanced wireless phones is impressive and the fact that the EDIG/Maycom player is being shown publicly tells me that the player is indeed done. It shouldn't be long before we hear about contracts from OEM's and others.

Cheers.
