NOK vs. MOT is as I have stated earlier similiar to Intel vs. AMD. Motorola may be left to compete for the low end market. No matter how good of a next generation handset they develop (just as AMD sometimes sets the CPU speed record), it will just be fighting an uphill battle in this business. The situation is not as bad as AMD but that is where is seems to be headed in the coming year or two.

Image is very important. A company that is judged not be cutting edge will lose potential customers--which in turn will hurt sales---which in turn will hurt the stock price --which in turn will hurt sales etc.
Companies such as Dell had used just the reverse to huge gains in the stock price and strong growth in sales (in the late 1990s). The good earnings lead to strong revenue which in turn lead to good earnings and so on. It feeds upon itself.
A winning image is usually very important!

I think NOKIA is now viewed as the winner and is on the uptrend on its growth and stock price just as Dell used to be. I think the growth for NOK will be very strong and should continues to take market share.

The good thing about MOT is that it is still strong in other areas.

JMHO.
