ADI has said:

Analog Devices CEO revises growth outlook upwards
CANNES, France, March 29 (Reuters) - Analogue Devices Inc. (NYSE:ADI - news), a maker of computer chips that transform sound and video into digital data, expects revenues to grow in excess of 50 percent during 2000, its chief executive said on Wednesday, revising upward previous growth targets.

``The year 2000 is shaping up to what looks like a terrific year for ADI,' Jerald Fishman, president and chief executive of the Norwood, Mass. company, told fund managers attending the annual SG Cowen Global Technology Conference here.

``Originally we were looking for 40 to 45 percent. Then we said 45 to 50 percent. Now we are seeing 50 to 55 percent growth for the year 2000,' Fishman told Reuters after his presentation. ADI's fiscal year ends in October 2000.

``This strength leads us to believe that we can grow our revenues for the year 2000 by more than 50 percent,' he said, referring to demand for its products in cell phones, Internet access devices such as modems, and consumer electronics.

``This would result in sales for this year of approximately $2.2 billion with good operating leverage as we increase our sales,' he said during his conference presentation.

Asked afterward by a reporter how this would translate into results for the fiscal second quarter ending in late April, he declined to comment, adding only that ``Business is great.'
