Thanks for the info on Timna. I guess Intel is facing the same choices as NSM was with the integration. The one that stands out now is RDRAM memory controller, which may lead to better performance (compared to off chip one) but it locks Intel to this architecture.

Intel will have to go with an external MRH-S (RDRAM-to-SDRAM translator) in the meantime.

Which will deny the performance benefit of integrated RDRAM memory controller and than some.
