<<Where do YOU draw the line in terms of the annoyance of a particular religious observance? Should little boys who are required by their religion to wear swords be allowed to wear them to school?>>

This is a great point. It is more about politics than religion. I don't see any reason for one persons authentic worship of God to be an annoyance to any other person. Except for persons who are harboring some fear that they may be missing out.

The sword thing would definitely be put to the test. The problem is we both no that it would not be an authentic act of worship but some political test to the spirit of the law.

<<and I don't want a dime of my money going to religious schools.>> The problem is that the people pushing for a voucher system have proposed exactly that scenario and your side has vehemently opposed it because they do want our dime to go to teaching your kids how to off a fetus of crack whores. The surviving babies of the crack whores want your system so half of our dimes go to your system to support the educational practices that don't offend their momma's perspectives on life. Knowing that you would still be getting half of our dime and not losing any of yours, you should then be for the voucher system. We would only get the usual allotment per head, which is far less than we put in.

I don't want a dime of my money going to religious schools.

A serious question, X: Why not? I can understand your not wanting to pay for religious education. However, I went to a parochial school and religious education was a class. Religion did not get all smushed together with history or mathematics or any other subject. Our texts were not fraught with religion; they were the customary texts.

It does seem a bit much that people whose children attend parochial schools end up paying both freights.
