Big OEMs like Dell, Compaq, and HP are snapping up all of the 840 motherboards out there. It is a very successful workstation platform, or so I'm told. I guess that's also where most of the RDRAM has been going as well.
There has never been a delivery of OR840 to Intel's distribution channel ditto for 733 MHz and above CPUs with 133 FSB.

IMO rate limiting factor for these hiend systems is RDRAM, so if Samsung tells Intel that they are making x RDRAM chips, Intel makes y and z quantities of OR840 and 800 MHz+ CPU's to a large degree.

I guess a Celeron or 550/600 PIII CPU's will suffice for the all the SDRAM produced.
