ted,

RE: And its the lack of feeling safe in this country that bothers me.

Me too, so how does a gun lock fix that?

The press is so hung up on none solutions it sickens me. The criminal unlocks his gun before he shoots you, Wow - some solution.

One last point, its much easier to kill with a gun than it is with knives, broken glass, even bayonets

If you hit what you're aiming at. I've taken my Glock out and put a 1 gallon jug of water out 20 feet and had friends miss with the entire magazine of ten rounds.

It takes a certain amount of skill to hit things from any type of distance with a pistol, Rifles are much more accurate for most folks, they tend to take more careful aim and are aided by the long site picture or scopes.

Have you seen those cop shows where the officer and a criminal exchange several shots without ever hitting each other. Nothing like in the movies.

Knives are very accurate, you need to get close, but very accurate.

Sometimes I think we value life here much less than other places.

Not we, but our criminals sure do. Maybe we should stop valuing our criminals so much.
