Reagan had a distinguished military career, albeit in the rear. The one incident where he created a misimpression was in reference to footage from the extermination camps, which he was privy to. He said that he had been there, probably meaning to convey that he had witnessed documentary evidence. He didn't lie about his record.......

Not only was Gore's uniform issued by the government, General Westmoreland cleaned and pressed if for him personally. at least Gore's uniform was actually issued by the federal government.
