Why did it run out of money? Try military spending. Why did they spend so much on the Military? The West? Jim, Had they spent the same amount of time developing their consumer and capital equipment industries like they did their military/space programs, I suspect they would not have run out of $. It wasn't the presence of the West so much as their own paranoia. After all when was the last time France invaded Hungary? ted
