As I understand it, since I can't speak for him, it was a call to attend to the principles the Anthem professes to stand for. So, yeeah most people saw it as an agenda or protest. Good for him. He sacrificed a lot to stand for a principle. It really doesn't apply to the subject. I just wanted to throw it in.

If it's a private event, and a private reaction it doesn't matter (legally speaking- under the Constitution- I don't want the issue here to become confused)

edit- unless of course, it's a "hate" crime. Musn't forget about those.
