Ted, surely you jest. Both Al and Bill have done more than any other president and vice president in the last 100 yrs. to discredit the presidency. And now you think he will bring honor to that office.

I think Gore and Clinton are two different people......remember the choice of VP is not made based on friendship but rather party politics.

hmaly,

Both Al and Bill will say anything to get elected.

This what turned me completely against Gore. He started ok, and was an ok southern Senator. I would even go as far as say that he seemed like an honest guy.

But the association with the Clinton types taught him the rewards of being a complete liar and manipulator, and made him realize there are no penalties. With this experience, why would he wage an honest campaign, that he could lose - since honest people disagree on issues (as witnessed on this thread), when he could just lie through his teeth with no scruples? The chances are that his opponent will be not lower himself to Clinton/Gore level.

If you paid attention, you might have witnessed the preview in the primaries, how Gore dealt with Bradley - a confused, but honest guy. Bradley was often left speechless at what Gore would say, thinking that people can see through it all, and punish Gore in the election. Well, he was wrong.
