Jim,
I saw somewhere that the annualized rate of return on SS money is only 2%.

The real problem is the system was set up to handle people being retired for 10-15 years, but this is clearly not the case now. Now people need SS for 30 years and it is too politically uncorrect to raise the age.

BTW- on the news now they are talking about this new federal policy that will give states $100 million each for sentancing people 5 years for gun crimes. Personnaly, I think washington DC bribing states to do what they want should be a crime!! If you know anyone in the education system, they can tell you how the federal gov cripples them with these stupid "do it our way or get no money" deals.
