"the govt feels comfortable that the case was proved. it is obvious to me what they did. i can't, nor should i, convince you."

Well, about half the country believes the gov't is wrong. But completely aside from the case, I can't understand how you believe Microsoft has forced you to buy anything from them. And you still can't provide evidence for your assumption that Microsoft charges more for Windows because of IE.

Out in the world there is a lot of bad feeling about what Microsoft has done to consumers. Even when you hear about Microsoft wanting to "cut off Netscape's air supply," it sounds like they truly are the evil empire. When you take a step back, you notice that they just practice capitalism, and the world has improved because of them.

If you feel forced in any way to buy their products, hopefully that will change. But I can't identify any forcing, myself.
