That is nonsense, and you know it. What caused this to become a political situation, instead of a "best interests of the child" situation, was Juan Miquel's total disregard for his son. Elian's extended family, in Miami, had two choices. To reject a very sick boy, like his father did, or to care for him and to try and nurse Elian back to health.

It's great to have such caring and decent people down here in Miami. Hopefully, one day, the political power in Cuba will fall back into their hands.
