Scumbria,
If union members were aware of how their dues were "spent", they might not be too happy. I suspect that the press has exposed the most blatant and sleazy examples of these practices-like the Buddest Temple mess.
Perhaps we can agree that both sides are guilty re. fund-raising - it just depends on which side you choose to point fingers from~ ;<)

OT:

The democrats have there own legal sources of big checks like the unions and the trial lawyers. The fact that Republicans get a lot of money legally doesn't excuse the Democrats illegal fund raiseing.
